Now hiring a Telemetry RN for a 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM day shift with potential for blocked scheduling and temp-to-perm opportunity. This unit specializes in cardiac and telemetry care (note: this is not a stepdown unit).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care using the full nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation)
- Monitor cardiac telemetry patients and administer appropriate interventions and medications per protocol
- Address complex emotional, psychological, and social needs of patients and families
- Educate patients and caregivers on conditions and recovery
- Document all care, medications, and responses accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team and appropriately delegate to manage care delivery
Unit Information:
- Patient population: Telemetry and cardiac monitoring (not a stepdown unit)
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Block scheduling may be available
- Temp-to-perm potential
- Supportive orientation and competency validation programs in place
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact state)
- BLS (required)
- ACLS (required)
- 1+ year of telemetry or related RN experience preferred
- BSN preferred
Training & Onboarding:
- All RNs must attend New Nurse Orientation within 30 days of hire
- Experienced hires are precepted and validated through MedSurg-specific competency checklists
- New grads may participate in a residency/orientation program with structured bedside skill tracking and mentorship
- Ongoing annual competency assessments required
Unit is not considered a stepdown – focused exclusively on telemetry and cardiac
Temp-to-perm option is available for interested travelers
Block scheduling may be approved depending on facility needs
Epic experience is a plus but not required
