Department/Unit Summary

5A is an acute care medical surgical unit. On a typical day, 6A has 24 patients with a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio and 1:10 CA/patient ratio.Ã¢€¯Ã¢€¯We serve the general population of hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions. The conditions include illnesses, surgery, testing, and observation patients. We take care of patients with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal and psychiatricissues.Ã¢€¯WhileÃ¢€¯caring for our patients is the focus, 5A boastsa strong teamenvironment, improved nurse communication and a commitment to SOVAH Health's core values.Ã¢€¯

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license andpossessa nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor'sdegree preferred).Additionalrequirements include:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Experience in clinical area preferred

Telemetry: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart AssociationÃ¢€¯required,Ã¢€¯orÃ¢€¯obtainedÃ¢€¯within six (6)Ã¢€¯months of hireÃ¢€¯
