Social Worker – Center for Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health
Be part of an exciting new outpatient program for children and adolescents at NYP-Westchester Behavioral Health. We are opening a Center for Childhood and Adolescent Behavioral Health, which will include an evaluation service, a partial hospital, an intensive outpatient program, and a short-term clinic. As a social worker, you will:
Work with an interdisciplinary team to conduct evaluations for children and adolescents with behavioral health problems
Educate families about mental health diagnoses, treatment options and strategies for supporting their child’s emotional well-being
Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with children/adolescents and their families
Provide time-limited individual, group and family therapy using evidence-based practices tailored to the needs of youth
Monitor and evaluate patient progress and modify interventions as needed
Collaborate with schools, pediatricians, and other community providers to coordinate care
Work closely with case managers to connect families to appropriate community resources and support services.

This is a full-time day flex, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm position at NewYork - Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health.
Preferred Criteria
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
3 to 5 years of experience in the treatment of child and adolescent psychiatric patients
Training in CBT and/or DBT
Bilingual Spanish
Required Criteria
Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
Limited Permit (must supply exam date prior to start of employment)
Fieldwork or previous experience in a psychiatric setting using CBT and/or DBT
Competency in individual, family and group treatment modalities and treatment techniques appropriate to an acute outpatient treatment setting
Knowledge base of bio-psychosocial model, DSM-V diagnoses, criteria for treatment of different diagnoses in an acute care setting, behavioral risk factors and of the impact of mental illness upon individual and family functioning
Knowledge base of community and discharge planning resources and processes
Experience using an electronic medical record

$46.15-$60.50/Hourly
