Job Title: CT Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Contract Duration:13 weeks
Shift: Monday – Friday 4pm-12am
Pay Rate: $70 - $72 per hour On W2
Position Overview: The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) diagnostic imaging procedures following established protocols and safety guidelines. This role requires technical expertise in operating CT equipment, administering radiopharmaceuticals, maintaining equipment quality control, and adhering to regulatory documentation standards. The position operates within the Radiology Interventional Department at St. Luke’s Hospital, supporting patient care through precision imaging and compliance with radiation safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize appropriate kV and mA settings to ensure optimal quality diagnostic CT images.
Conduct daily quality control calibration and equipment safety checks prior to patient studies.
Administer radioactive materials as ordered by physicians, adhering strictly to prescribed protocols.
Maintain thorough documentation in logs, manuals, and charge sheets; promptly report equipment issues per regulatory requirements.
Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests in compliance with the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principle.
Manage, develop, and retrieve patient imaging and electronic data for radiologist interpretation.
Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to administration.
Receive and verify radiopharmaceutical deliveries on the day of receipt, confirming activity levels before administration.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
NYS Department of Health Radiologic Technologist License.
ARRT Certification in Radiography and CT.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
Minimum of 1 year of CT technologist experience.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
Strong judgment to assess and respond to patient needs throughout the imaging process.
Ability to follow detailed protocols and regulatory compliance measures.
