Contract Duration: (13 weeks)
Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $2,609.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $1,188.00 Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,421.00 Per Week
Job Summary: we are seeking for registered nurse specializing in Med-Surgical Hematology/Oncology. The role requires experience working in a large academic hospital with proficiency in Epic electronic medical records. The RN will provide direct patient care during day shifts, adhering to AMC’s clinical standards and protocols. Navy blue scrubs are mandatory.
Job Duties:
Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the Med-Surg Hematology/Oncology unit.
Administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and document care using the Epic EMR system.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in competency testing within 48 hours of submission to ensure adherence to AMC standards.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies including dress code (navy blue scrubs) and local hiring requirements.
Potentially float to other units as needed.
Support patients and families through education and emotional support.
Skills Required:
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a Med-Surg Hematology/Oncology setting OR 1 year in a 600+ bed academic hospital with competency testing passed.
Proficiency in Epic electronic medical records system (required).
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Flexibility to work day shifts and every other weekend/rotating holidays.
Certifications:
Active RN license in the state of New York (pending licenses may be reviewed).
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred but not required.
Competency test completion within 48 hours of submission as per AMC policy.
