12H Nights Nights, EOW, First to float -Labor and Delivery (L&D), Postpartum (PP), and Triage and ci Description: Unit Notes:**Medical Solutions auto deducts the 1.75 WA state tax - you are able re-add that back in.**MUST Float from triage, labor and delivery nurse, baby nurse for normal newborn deliveries/transitions, postpartum nurse taking both moms and babies and circulating in the OR. Will not float out of scopeUnit L&D/PP/MB# of L&D Beds- 14 LDRP (Labor and Delivery, Recover and Post Partum) Laboring Moms will stay in the same room throughout the stages of labor and recovery# of OR Suites- 2 - they staff their own C-sections# of triage beds-3 - Triage experience is required# of Special Care Nursery (Level 2)- 5 beds caring for babies greater than 1800g (phototherapy, blood glucose management, opiate withdrawal, antibiotics, respiratory support, growers/feeders# of births per day, per year- 1000 Births per year on average.Do ratios follow AWHONN guidelines?- Absolutely adhere to AWHONN for example 1:1 for active labor, dedicated baby nurse at every birth. Special care nursery up to 1:3, less based on acuity. 1 nurse to 2-3 couplets for recovered moms. 1:1 through recovery phase.Required Certifications- BLS, NRP Required. Common diagnoses/Types of patients- multiples twins not triplets, vbacs, at risk patients (HTN/hemorrhage). Antepartum - preterm labor, infections, post op gynExperience or 'Must have' skills- Minimum of 2 years experience. For nursery, you need at least level 2 experience. Labor nurses will need to know how to circulate c-sections. Scrubbing experience is preferred but not required, they do have a designated PST for the unit. Will need to triage and transition normal newbornsAre RNs required to titrate drips? -Yes, according to the physician orderCommon titratable &/or set rate drips- Mag, Pitocin. Will need to monitor epidurals after initiation and rate set by AnesthesiaCharge Nurse/House Supervisor- Charge nurse on each shift, overseeing the entire department. Does not take a patient load Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Surgical tech 24/7 for C-sections. Does not care for laboring patients at the bedsideOB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?- Ob or certified midwife in house 24/7. Neonatal hospitalists here 24/5 as of now, but < 30 min away RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)-Anesthesia in house, dedicated for OB specifically.Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?-Tele capable for laboring patients. centralized fetal heart monitoring. Tracings can be seen at the nurses station; no monitor techs, nurses are responsible for interpreting their own strips EFM System- Centricity perinatal for fetal heart monitoring. EPIC for medical record.Shifts & Scheduling-07-1930, 1900-0730 12 hour shifts, 3 12 hour shifts a week. Every other weekend. Try to work with set schedulesWeekend Requirement- Friday Saturday for overnights. Saturday Sunday for Days. Every other weekend.Holiday Requirement -Rotate with perm staffIs there a call or standby requirement? NoFloating Requirements Would not float outside the birth center. Only floating to the special care nursery if experienced in that specialty and agreed upon prior to start of contractScrub Color/Dress code- Provided and required to wear the hospital scrubsUnit/Department specific orientation- 2 days in the unit with a preceptorAdditional Notes Additional Questions: Small team, needs to be a team player, willing to help out whenever able.
